Our client is a global provider of customized products, services and technologies. Its foundry division operates in more than 30 countries employing about 2,800 people worldwide. Their mission is to partner with clients in order to improve their clients` business performance. To further achieve their goals, our client is looking for an European Business Control Director to join the European Foundry Executive Committee.

Position

  • becoming the champion of performance management systems while being a significant contributor to driving a stronger performance culture in Europe
  • resetting the strategy and driving change and restructuring projects in Europe
  • monitoring and controlling the financial performance of the region
  • generating effective strategies and solutions according to trends and key issues
  • developing effective KPIs
  • providing technical and accounting assistance as well as investment analysis and direction on all capex, investment and disposal projects
  • developing financial business processes with the European Area Directors to maximize efficiency and effectiveness
  • leading the implementation of Lean Administration and improve support functions
  • leading the implementation in Europe of standard Business Unit finance processes including budgeting, business reviews, authorization matrices and capex
  • becoming a contributing and effective member of the European Foundry Executive Committee

Profil

  • academic education in economics or business administration with a major in finance and/or accounting /ACA or equivalent preferred), Master degree is advantageous
  • 10 years post qualification experience in an international company & multicultural environment
  • 3 years working in a line finance function position in a manufacturing environment
  • in depth financial ability, understanding of business processes, knowledge of ERP systems
  • understanding and working experience with IFRS / IAS and UK-GAAP
  • fluent in spoken and written English and German, knowledge of other languages would be desirable
  • initiative, assertiveness and drive coupled with a willingness to travel extensively throughout Europe
  • flexibility and ability to adjust immediately to changing circumstances and to work under pressure
  • thinking in terms of strategic solutions
  • capable of developing a broad understanding of strategic issues and to contribute to the process of strategy formulation and implementation
  • strong analytical skills, systematic approach and clear focus
