The organisation

Our client is an important part of a globally leading group. For the European Headquarters based in the prosperous Saar-Loor-Lux-Metropolitan area we are now recruiting a Finance Manager Europe (m/f) to accompany the lasting growth of this dynamic group. In this challenging opportunity within the group´s fast-paced business, reporting directly to the VP Finance Europe.

The position

  • Preparation of monthly financial statements to determine financial performance of all European business units
  • Be responsible for ensuring that the work of the accounting team is conducted in accordance with policies & procedures, proactively identify and lead process improvement areas
  • Coordinate annual budget planning process for all European entities, including central cost and CAPEX planning
  • Drive regional Europe Budget alignment process and facilitate discussion of regional bottom-up plans
  • Monitoring of budget versus actual status and ensuring no over expenditure
  • Regular review meetings with cost center Managers to resolve and discuss various financial and accounting issues and queries
  • Participate in internal audits as scheduled and in external audits by providing auditors with accounting documents as requested and providing explanations for audit queries

Candidate profile

  • Degree in Business Administration ideally together with a Qualified Accountant-/post graduate degree (e.g. CPA)
  • Profound knowledge in similar roles, preferably in both operational and central functions of a multinational corporation
  • Five years experience at a management level
  • Strong organizational, management and reporting skills with demonstrated leadership, initiative and results
  • Financial and accounting skills, good analytical and management skills, detail oriented, strong organization and reporting skills
  • Reliable, mature, good communication skills
  • Deep knowledge of US-GAAP and German GAAP (HGB)
  • IT Knowledge (MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, and Reporting, e.g., AS 400)
  • Used to work in environments with multiple interconnected IT/ERP tools
  • Fluency in German and English is mandatory; knowledge of further languages desirable
