Besides the traditional product range provided by senior and junior financing officers, DVB also arranges equity for transport clients through its investment management business and it provides fund management services to institutional investors in the transport sector. A new organisation structure has been implemented for the Shipping Division. The new Department Transaction Loan Services (TLS) will be located in Amsterdam-Schiphol and to lead this new team we are looking for an experienced manager:
The position
Your main responsibility will be to provide leadership and direction to the new Schiphol-based dedicated TLS Team, managing Shipping Loan Portfolios. You will lead Loans Administration (6 professionals) and Transaction Management (4 professionals). You will manage and further develop requirements, procedures, instructions, timetable, etc. in close corporation with global peers.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Full range of loan products, bilateral, participation, agency, structured deals, swaps etc. in Shipping transactions
- Correspond and liaise with Front Office, Clients, Syndicate, Client Banks and other DVB groups during normal execution of duties
- Arrange funding for new deals
- Monitor and check covenants, receipt of funds (clients/agent banks/participating banks)
- Arrange for outgoing (closing) payments in accordance with relevant documentation
- Handle late payments reports for management and audit reporting
- Process client enquiries (e.g. bank balances, audit confirmations)
- Ensure timely updating and data quality of all relevant loan system (SAP-CML & OASIS)
- Supervision of all original corporate and transaction specific documentation. Handling of post-closing documentation (completeness checks, archiving)
- Handle daily transactional content for a portfolio of clients such as:
- Waiver requests
- Loan payments, prepayments/repayments, final maturities, collateral release
- Changes to ownership/restructuring/charters/flag
- Funding advice, closing drawdowns, fees, transfers & assignments
Candidate profile
To be successful in this role you ideally need a high level of banking product knowledge, specialisation and experience within Transaction Banking. You are a respected and seasoned bank manager with analytical and decision-making skills who likes to be involved in complex projects. You are capable of inspiring and leading the department.
Furthermore, you meet the following requirements:
- At least five to ten years experience in asset based finance, ideally with specific experience in Shipping finance, but with basic understanding of Shipping business
- Experience in managing a team of finance professionals
- Ideally an academic qualification related to this field
- Sound understanding of the content of transaction documentation (principal documents, collateral documents etc.) and repayment schedules
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, and an understanding of reporting systems (OASIS, SAP)
- Strong systems and process skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Excellent presentational and communication skills and excellent command of English in written and verbal format is a prerequisite
