Our client is a global provider of ICT services and solutions with an extensive history extending over 125 years. The group has approximately 7000 employees in 13 countries across Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America.

The position

The company is keen to hire someone who has a natural entrepreneurial flair and drives development of sales within a highly competitive landscape. The Business Development Manager would be responsible for engaging with existing and potential customers for the sale of ICT-services. This can be achieved through various channels for example, via partners such as Tier 1 Service Providers, System Integrators or Telecommunications companies or directly to Mid -Market or Enterprise clients.

The Business Development Manager would develop a business plan in conjunction with Senior Sales Management and be responsible for lead generation and sales execution.  This truly is an autonomous and exciting role with excellent career development prospects and earning potential.

Starting position most likely is Channel Director, but may change over time for instance into Account Director or Deal Executive.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Identify, prospect and generate new business with existing and new logo accounts
  • Building strong, long term relationships with customers at all levels
  • Gaining high client satisfaction rating
  • Leading and managing a bid team in case of tenders/proposals
  • Delivering against sales plans and targets
  • Pipeline planning & forecasting

Candidate profile

Our client is looking for a native German speaker, with excellent written & verbal communication skills in business English. The ideal candidate lives in the Bayern region and has a strong regional network. 

  • Extensive experience of ICT services with strong understanding of outsourcing market
  • Understanding IT-infrastructure solutions, features and benefits – ability to articulate this to a varied audience
  • Proven track record of account development and new business acquisition
  • Experience across the full sales lifecycle (lead generation to contract signature)
  • Demonstrable ability to build trust & credibility within customer accounts
  • Well connected
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Working with global, virtual teams
