The organisation

Our client is a dynamic, innovative healthcare company, with the EMEA headquarters in Hamburg, Germany. 

They offer their clients innovative customer-focused solutions. Their products are highly successful and always in demand, which leads to rapid growth and global expansion.

In order to increase their growth and maintain their success story we are seeking, on behalf of our client a Director Sales - for direct (Germany) and indirect (Distributors) sales.

The position

  • Prepare and implement business plans and strategies to increase market share in the German and EMEA region
  • Assign and re-assigns responsibilities within the team to ensure the business goals of the company are met
  • Management of the existing Distributors and key customers in the German and EMEA healthcare market
  • Development of new distribution channels
  • Develop a strong team of proven sales personnel, including training and motivation, ensure retention of the employees
  • Management and support of marketing and service strategy
  • Preparation of and participation in local and international congresses
  • Management of regional issues and opportunities via strong business planning and close interaction with the Head Office
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products etc.
  • Direct report to the Managing Director

Candidate profile

  • University degree of medical device industry with technical or business qualification
  • Profound sales experience in the German and international healthcare market
  • Profound success in driving growth and top line results with direct sales and distributors on an international level
  • Sufficient presence to command respect in the internal and external environment
  • Excellent builder of relationships
  • Excellent communication skills in English, any further European language is of advantage
  • Strong entrepreneurial attitude and a hands-on mentality
  • Enthusiasm, with a passion for new challenges and open-minded for working across multiple disciplines and geographical borders
  • Travel time approx 40-50 %
