The company is a niche 'retail' insurance specialist with their head quarters based in Rotterdam. With a strong focus on the client relation, the 130-strong staff serves our global client base. By working as a team across our offices in Rotterdam, London, Paris and Singapore, we aim to exceed our clients’ expectations worldwide.

The position

Due to the success and continued growth, we are looking for a strong and experienced Sales Executive to join the company in the execution of new business leads in our international markets.

In this challenging position, the Sales Executive will be making targeted plans in accordance with our business model and growth planning. Furthermore the Sales Executive will work closely together with the underwriting team and report to the Managing Director. Despite the collaboration with the other teams, this is an independent sales position in which freedom is given to make a success of the function.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for building and developing effective and profitable long term client relations
• Exploiting new business opportunities for all our products worldwide

Candidate profile

• Broad commercial experience developed within an international environment
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Willing and able to travel abroad frequently, about 50% of the job
• High level of initiative and creativity with empathic talent
• Knowledge and understanding of the shipping and commodity trading industry
• Bachelor's degree or high level of professional work experience
• Fluently in English
• Able to work independently and see opportunities where they arise
