Since opening its first office in Munich in 2008, Mutares has become a global player in the carve-outs and restructurings market. It now employs 27,000 professionals across its portfolio companies. Its team of 140 internal operational specialists manages the entire value-creation process from thirteen European offices, including one in central Amsterdam. Mutares is expanding its business further across Europe and globally, with plans to add locations in China and the US, too.

The position

Mutares is an international private equity investor focused on medium-sized companies in transitional phases. The (Senior) Finance Manager will lead the financial operations at various portfolio companies in The Netherlands and around Europe, working closely with local leadership and driving strategic financial transformations during the turnaround process.

The (Senior) Finance Manager will take charge of the finance workstream at various portfolio companies in The Netherlands and throughout Europe, collaborating closely with local C-Level executives and driving strategic financial transformations during the turnaround process. The candidate easily embeds themselves within portfolio companies, ensuring alignment with local leadership and enabling smooth operations during the reorganization.

Applying an entrepreneurial mindset and continuous improvement attitude, the (Senior) Finance Manager analyzes core business drivers and utilizes strategic data and insights to develop and implement financial turnaround strategies which align with organizational objectives. Leading forecasting and budgeting processes, they will develop integrated financial plans and implement and enhance robust cash management processes, effectively managing liquidity requirements onsite.

The (Senior) Finance Manager adapts swiftly to change and focuses on achieving results by solving complex problems with creative solutions. Possessing the ability to easily interpret intricate financial data and a strong understanding of financial models, they quickly and accurately build, review, and refine financial models as per organizational requirements. Additionally, the (Senior) Manager Finance will prepare and execute financing solutions such as factoring, asset-based funding, and credit lines to optimize financial resources.

Business and people savvy, the (Senior) Finance Manager builds trust and fosters successful relationships. They carefully navigate social environments when working on-site at portfolio companies and apply the right amount of empathy along with strong leadership, offering the team clear direction, transparency, and motivation. The (Senior) Manager Finance will also manage various external stakeholders, including auditors, financial advisers, banks, and credit insurers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
