The organisation

Ducor Petrochemicals B.V. specializes in the production of polypropylene raw materials (granules), and the marketing of polypropylene and polyethylene from its own production and from the parent company. Ducor is a medium sized 24/7 run operation, producing raw material for various industries. Ducor characterizes itself as an informal, flat organization with short lines where no two days are the same. In total, there are 100 permanent employees working at the plant in Rozenburg, and approximately 40 hired FTE on a daily basis. Ducor Petrochemicals is part of an international listed company.

The position

As Operations Manager, you are part of the Management Team, and you will lead a team of about 100 colleagues (including outsourced logistic services) and report directly to the Managing Director.

Tasks & responsibilities

You will be responsible for coordinating, organizing, and overseeing all activities related to the preparation and handling of production, with the ultimate goal of achieving highly satisfied customers to meet the company’s objectives. You will also be responsible for further professionalizing the department.  As a member of the Management Team, you will share responsibility for developing the vision and formulating and implementing the organization’s strategy. The company is dedicated to constant improvement, striving to enhance every aspect of its operations. As part of this, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all activities related to the preparation and handling of production and sales orders are coordinated, organized, and controlled effectively. Your ultimate goal will be to achieve highly satisfied customers, thereby helping to meet the company’s objectives.

Candidate profile

  • a completed bachelor’s or master’s degree, such as in Chemical Engineering;
  • at least 10 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a production and Seveso environment, for example, as an Operations Manager or in a managerial position within the Operations department, preferably in Chemistry;
  • leadership experience in a 24/7 organization, including leading leaders and shift supervisors;
  • leadership in logistics and outsourced activities (contract and contractor management);
  • excellent managerial, people, and communication skills;
  • proficiency in both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
