ING Wholesale Banking’s Transaction Services (TS) offers products and services to corporate and institutional clients and is a significant contributor to the growth and profitability of Wholesale Banking. Its three core product areas are covering Payments & Cash Management (PCM), Trade (Trade Finance Services and Working Capital Solutions) and Bank Mendes Gans.

Product Management (PM) Trade is a newly created department within Wholesale Banking Transaction Services. The purpose of the PM Trade department is to unlock existing business potential and activate new client/market opportunities. The team’s core focus is on executing a strong commercial strategy aiming at stable and sustainable income flows. Within this department, multiple Product Manager roles are to be filled at different levels.

The position

ING Wholesale Banking has created a new team focused on Trade products. The (Senior) Product Manager for Working Capital Solutions (WCS) grows the WCS product portfolio and improves its performance. This is an excellent role for a trade professional with a strategic mindset to advance the ING WCS value proposition across more than 30 countries globally.

Tasks & responsibilities

The Product Manager (WCS) is part of the Working Capital Solutions team, which is responsible for the commercial performance of the WCS products: receivables finance and supply chain finance. The team owns the P&L and continuously optimizes the commercial performance of the WCS products. This involves the translation of market developments into concrete requirements for product development and commercialization. The Product Manager (WCS) works together with the different teams across the product value chain, such as sales, delivery, tech and operations, in order to develop the commercial strategy and roadmap. The role’s key objectives are attracting new customers (eg. identifying new growth pockets) and improving product performance (eg. costs, marketing, distribution) across a global network covering over 30 countries.

The Product Manager (WCS) reports directly to the Head of Trade. Various activities across the different pillars (e.g. competitive analysis and market research, P&L optimization, product proposition, etc.) are divided among the team. More senior member in the team supports junior members in driving their specific workstreams.

Candidate profile*

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree
• 6+ years of experience in Wholesale Banking, in areas like strategy, commercial product management, marketing, or customer experience
• Knowledge of Trade Finance products
• Experience in commercial product management and/or marketing and/or customer experience
• Strong business acumen
