Stanley is a group that produces high-quality and sustainable food and drink containers under flagship brands, headquartered in Seattle, USA, with a commercial team of around 15 people in Amsterdam. Stanley is a stand online business unit as part of HAVI, a global, privately owned company that employs more than 10,000 people and serves customers in more than 100 countries. It connects people with ideas, data with insights, supply with demand, restaurants with deliveries and ultimately, people with the products they love. Apart from the HQ in Seattle, USA, Stanley also has offices in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Amsterdam, Rio de Janeiro, Cariacica, Manaus, and Manila.

The position

Stanley is a century-old American heritage company, known for its green thermos bottles, and now growing double digits. The Finance Manager EMEA is responsible for interpreting the financial accounts and identifying how to further grow and improve the P&L. This is an excellent opportunity for an autonomous finance manager to directly contribute to the success of an innovative global consumer brand.

Tasks & responsibilities

The Finance Manager EMEA joins the commercial team of around 15 people in Amsterdam and is responsible for interpreting the financial accounts and identifying how to grow and improve the P&L. Strategic and critical thinking are therefore key. By understanding the numbers, the Finance Manager can effectively advise or challenge the business and enable data-driven decision-making. Also, the role proactively looks at opportunities within the finance domain itself, for example in tax, forex management, accounting, payroll, and tariffs. It’s essential to have the ability to spot such opportunities and a natural eagerness to embrace them.

The Finance Manager also develops policies and guidelines for financial management, and ensures their implementation for the entire operations, including the accuracy of accounting and tax reconciliation in accordance with the countries’ laws. In addition, this position guarantees the financial budget and forecast, and sets the standards to ensure information is accurate and within deadlines. For the latter, the Finance Manager will develop and implement the annual financial planning process, which should monitor decision-making and results.

The role of Financial Manager is stand-alone yet very connected with international teams, as the back-office is based in Manila, Philippines, the head-office is based in Seattle, and the role reports to President Stanley EMEA & South America based in Brazil. People skills and the ability to quickly build trust are therefore crucial in this role. The Finance Manager will have one direct report in Manila.

Candidate profile*

• Master’s degree
• 10+ years in finance, accounting, planning and control
• Strong negotiation and people skills
• Financially savvy in different currencies
• Fluent in English
